COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Job overview

The Communication Coordinator is responsible for organizing and/or creating visual and written communication content across a variety of channels and platforms.  Our Communications Coordinator is vital to supporting the overall mission and vision of FUMC Boerne by doing their part to help us grow in our ability to effectively communicate within our congregation and community.

REPORTS TO
The Communications Coordinator reports to the Executive Pastor.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Work with church leaders to create, organize, and implement effective communication, both visual and written, in a variety of formats (digital, web, print, social media, and the church app) and across multiple platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, website)
  • Develop and execute church and ministry-based calendar for marketing and communication
  • Maintain church website – work with ministry and program leaders to continually update content for communication and ways to enhance effectiveness
  • Manage consistent church branding standards across all communication efforts
  • support church and ministry leaders in conveying their vision and communications priorities to appropriate audiences

WORK HOURS AND BENEFITS
This is a part-time position, approximately 15 hours per week without benefits, expressed or implied.  Work hours are flexible with the exception of team meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills, knowledge of graphic design and web management
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously with great attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines and priorities
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills who can effectively engage with staff, ministry leaders and volunteers, with the ability to handle complaints and problems with tact, patience, and diplomacy
  • Experience in social media and app management
