The Front Office Administrator provides administrative support to the pastors by organizing and executing administrative duties and activities.  In addition, this position creates, organizes, plans, and implements effective communication of the work of the church.  Our Front Office Administrator is vital to supporting the overall mission and vision of FUMC Boerne by doing their part to keep the church running smoothly, providing a welcoming atmosphere for others, and helping us grow in our ability to effectively communicate within our congregation and community.

REPORTS TO
The Front Office Administrator reports to the Executive Pastor.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Maintain and organize the front office area/resource room, keeping inventory of supplies
  • Distribution of mail and packages
  • Answering incoming calls and emails; directing visitors
  • Keep accurate church records such as membership, worship and Sunday School attendance, birthday lists, Gospel Café list, Safe Gatherings certifications, and baptism certificates
  • Complete administrative tasks as needed (i.e. funeral bulletins, visitor packets, staff phone and mailbox lists, mass mailing projects)
  • Assist the Senior Pastor in preparing documents for our annual church conference

WORK HOURS AND BENEFITS
This is a part-time position, approximately 28 hours per week with no benefits expressed or implied.  Work hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday through Thursday, with an hour break daily for lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft 365 products
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information discreetly
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must be able to walk/move around campus frequently and with ease
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with great attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines and priorities
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills who can effectively engage with staff, ministry leaders and volunteers, with the ability to handle complaints and problems with tact, patience, and diplomacy
